Procedures

The procedures in my classroom are important because it will help my students stay on track for the day and for the rest of the year and they will more likely have a chance to succeed. Organization is a big part of achieving success. In order to communicate these procedures I will go over them on the first day of class and every day of the week briefly before class until I feel that they know the procedures. If I feel that I need to adjust some procedures at some point I will do so and make sure to communicate to my students in the same way.

1. Seating- I will allow my students to sit wherever they want, but if that becomes a problem then I will assign seating if I need to.

2. Bathroom- I will allow students to go to the bathroom during class, but they have to raise there hand and grab a bathroom pass.

3. Pencils/Sharpening- Pencil sharpening should only be used at the first 5 minutes of class in order to avoid distractions. I will require my students to bring two pencils to class so that one can be used as a back up.

4. Supplies- If a student forgets to bring a pencil or paper, I will make sure to have extra pencils and paper just in case. However, if this becomes a habit with a student not being prepared for class I will need to send a friendly reminder home to their parents.

5. Entering/Exiting the Classroom- When entering or exiting the classroom, my students are to remain quiet and keep hands and feet to themselves.

6. Distributing Materials/Supplies- In order to distribute materials/supplies quickly and efficiently, I will ask for a couple volunteers from the class to raise their hand and I will allow them to help me pass out the materials/supplies.

7. Visitors-

8. Being Absent-

9. Standards for Papers-

10. Beginning of the Year-

Other Procedures

11. Bell Work- When entering the class, start working on bell work.

12. Clean Up- I want my students to make sure to clean up after themselves to teach them responsibility.

13.Raise your hand- I want my students to raise their hand when they have questions or answers to avoid blurting out questions or answers and distracting the rest of the class.
